When are we going to stop the private sector providing ‘care’? This is privatization of profits and socialization of risk … with the vulnerable of society being put at the mercy of the markets …. and given the current financial meltdown, how many more care homes are under threat?
The profit motive is too prone to distort the values of ‘caring’.
Care should be provided by the State or by not-for-profits cooperatives.
