On the very same day the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, my parents married, oblivious to the news. Today we are still considering a new Trident and expansion of nuclear power. 1945 man made nuclear disasters left devastation, destruction and genetic mutations in humans and other species for generations forever. Remember Hiroshima and Japan’s recent disaster and stop this, before it is too late. Please.
Those two terrible dates should be remembered forever. However to associate the terrors of a nuclear weapon and the deaths of 200,000 with that of commercial nuclear power is dangerous and risks clouding the debate of what is our greatest threat in the future, carbon or nuclear fuel. Hiroshima and Nagasaki is not remotely comparable to Fukushima.
